Technical Narration by MF Build Engineer Jed WhiteĪ legendary story/name leaps into vivid reality, though not in the cramped office of a make-believe sleuth, or tawdry movie set but as the spectacular, stunning, world’s largest of its kind. ![]() Legendary Bird Swoops Into Modern Sailing History Since the yacht’s delivery, the yard has been acquired by The Italian Sea Group (TISG), and the Group has plans to reveal a new Falcon-rigged sailing yacht that will be “as innovative today as the Maltese Falcon was innovative 10 years ago.Perini Navi 289' Clipper Yacht "Maltese Falcon" ![]() Maltese Falcon was delivered in 2006 and remains the flagship of the Perini Navi fleet. Onboard highlights include a central staircase that twists around the interior structure of the mainmast, with glass panels underfoot that allow a completely unobstructed view of her 58 metre masts and iconic DynaRig design. She offers accommodation for up to 12 guests with quarters for a crew of 19. Refit work on the sailing yacht began in summer 2022 when she underwent a number of changes including the addition of a movie projector, new guest TVs throughout, brand new water toys and new interior furniture with piano and artworks in the main bridge and guest cabins.Īs one of the world’s largest sailing vessels and a seasoned regatta participant, Maltese Falcon is already a popular charter yacht. Technical upgrades include new generators, as well as a fresh coat of exterior paint. In the dining room, the three-masted sailing yacht will also be fitted with a brand-new dining table. Maltese Falcon will also receive additional onboard amenities, with all-new equipment in the massage room including a Sculpt machine. The yacht’s en suites will also be ripped out and refitted, while the master and VIP will benefit from brand-new bed structures. ![]() In terms of interior modifications, the refit will include a number of changes in the accommodation areas designed to boost her appeal on the charter market. In the tender bay area, a new deck will be fitted. Refit work will include a number of major structural modifications, including the addition of a new 10-square-metre pool and sunbed on the aft portion of the flybridge deck.Įlsewhere on the exterior, Maltese Falcon will receive new steel-structured aft awning running from the superstructure to the stern sofa. An extensive list of work will be completed in time for the summer 2023 charter season with Burgess. The yacht arrived at the shipyard’s Livorno facilities in late September and will remain there until May. The 88 metre Perini Navi Maltese Falcon has entered into a full-scale refit at Italian yard Lusben, the refit division of Azimut-Benetti.
